Food Review, Walk an Alpaca and Gullivers World Fireworks

Good morning, Warrington. Mike here! This is From Warrington, your daily dose of local news with a generous pinch of positivity that compliments your morning cuppa.

In today’s From Warrington:

  • We visit Zumuku Sushi 🍣

  • Walk an alpaca (in Warrington?)🦙

  • Gullivers World fireworks 🎆

Let’s get to it.

Zumuku Sushi Review 🍣

Have you visited Zumuku Sushi? It’s in Penketh on Warrington Road. I’ve been a few times, so I thought it was about time I wrote a little review.

They have a lunchtime special (dine-in only), which is what we have had most of the time: two courses for £13.95 (menu here).

The katsu curry is my go-to, and it's one of the best I’ve had. You get plenty of sauce, which you don’t get in other places, and the portion size is good.

My wife typically goes for the sushi rolls, and we have had many of these from here.

The Dragon Roll is probably the best sushi roll (in my opinion), but the Zumu Special and Tokyo Rainbow are also great.

If you are after something different then why not give them a try?

The full menu is available here.

Walk An Alpaca at Walton Gardens

If you want something different to do with the kids, head to Walton Hall and Gardens for an alpaca walk. You'll meet three friendly alpacas—Mally, Jim, and Topaz—and take them on a walk. The experience starts with a short introduction to the alpacas, where you'll learn how to handle them.

The alpaca walks are available for booking, either for one adult or one adult and one child (aged 8 to 14).

Where Are We Today?

One of my favourite features, it’s simple, we’ll take a photo of somewhere in Warrington, and you tell us where!

As you have probably guessed, we are on a bridge. Look in the background for some famous landmarks to give you a clue. It’s a bridge you have probably never driven over but may have cycled over.

The answer will be in Friday’s newsletter.

Gullivers World Fireworks 🎆

This is on Saturday the 31st of August.

Some people love fireworks, some don’t, but Gulliver's World is ending the summer season with a bang—literally! If you are a dog owner whose dog doesn’t like fireworks, this is your warning not to walk your dog that evening (my dog is not a fan of them).

The Summer Sparks Spectacular promises an evening of fun. The park's hours are extended from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., giving you extra time to enjoy the rides and attractions. The highlight of the evening will be a fantastic fireworks display kicking off around 8:45 p.m.
