Friday 2nd August

A New Coffee Shop, a Big What’s On Guide and Newton Music Festival

Happy Friday, Warrington. It’s time for another edition of From Warrington. We’ve got all the latest town news wrapped up in a fun 5-minute read. Grab your coffee, sit back, and let’s kick off the weekend together.

In today's edition:

  • A new coffee shop is opening in town next week.

  • A complete guide to the best of what is happening this weekend.

  • Newton music festival

  • Warrington vs Hull KR

Let’s get to it.

A new coffee shop is opening next week

Religion Coffee (owned by the same people who own Tank Bar) will open next Tuesday.

This is on the corner of the new Hive building (formally TJ Hughes and the old Co-op building).

They are running an offer where the first 50 coffees will be free.

We will call next in week to try out the coffee, get something to eat, and report back with a review. If you try it next week, please let us know what it's like.

It’s always nice to see businesses not part of a chain opening in the town center.

Check out their Facebook page here.

Warrington vs Hull KR

It’s another top-of-the-table clash on Friday night, as we take on Hull KR at 8 p.m. at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

If you are a stats person, you will be happy to know we have beaten them the last 4 times we have played them.

If we win this game, we will go 2 points clear, but Wigan have a game in hand.

Tickets are available for the game here.

How often do you visit the new market?

The new market divides opinion. We love it, but we can see why it's not everyone's cup of tea, especially those who want more stalls and less food.

Let us know what you think of it by answering the poll below.
