Katherine Ryan at The Parr Hall and Warrington Had a Castle?

Plus what's on, sport, weather and the Warrington Wordle.

Good morning, Warrington! Mike here, kicking off another week with the latest local news and events. The weekend may be behind us, but there’s plenty going on to keep things interesting.

In today's edition:

  • 🎤 Katherine Ryan at the Parr Hall

  • 🏰 Rediscovering Warrington’s Ancient Castle

  • 📊 Results from last week's poll (What does Warrington need the most).

Grab your favourite brew, and let's start. ☕️

Katherine Ryan- Thursday, 26th September 🎤

Katherine Ryan, one of the UK's favourite comedians, is hitting the road again with her new live show, Battleaxe. You might know her from Netflix hits like The Duchess and her comedy specials In Trouble and Glitter Room, or from her TV work on Backstage With Katherine Ryan and Romantic Getaway with Romesh Ranganathan.

She'll be performing at Parr Hall on Thursday, 26th September 2024, at 8 PM. It's set to be a brilliant night, so be sure to grab your tickets!

Rediscovering Warrington’s Ancient Castle 🏰

This is at the Bulls Head Inn on Church Street on Thursday the 26th of September at 6pm.

I always like to try to add something a little different to these newsletters when I can. This was sent to me by one of our readers (thank you). I wasn’t aware that we used to have a castle; maybe you weren’t either.

It’s a free event, but if you want to find out more, check put the pub’s Facebook page.

Results from last week's poll (What does Warrington need the most) 📊

The results have been included as it was the most interaction of anything that has ever been in the newsletter.

The two most population options (tried on votes) were:

  • A new hospital

  • Just STOP building everything and fix what we have

I included the last option just to see if people felt the same as me. I sometimes feel we just need to fix up what we have, and it seems a lot you feel the same way.

More polls coming soon!

Sport 🏉

⚽️ Warrington 1 -1 Spennymoor Town. Still no wins for 6 games but I guess we will take a draw at the moment with how things are going?

🏉 Warrington beat London Broncos 54-0. This was almost a guaranteed win and it didn’t disappoint the fans. The weather was also lovely on Friday evening for the game. This leaves us sitting 3rd in the table. Our next game is against St Helens.
