Ladies Fashion Show, Thelwall History Group and Blossom Food Review

Good morning, Warrington. It's Wednesday, and we've got your midweek dose of local news, events, and a few surprises. Settle in and catch up on what’s new

In today’s From Warrington:

Let’s get to it.

We Visit Blossom, The Latest new Cafe In Town ☕️ 🍸️

Last week, while wandering through town, I noticed Blossom had officially opened its doors. We’d shared a picture a few weeks back about how it was replacing Heavenly Desserts (which closed a while back), so naturally, being a bit peckish, I decided to pop in and give it a go.

On my first visit, I went with my wife—we kept it simple with a coffee each and shared a plate of waffles topped with fresh fruit. The service was really good, with a warm welcome and menus brought over straight away. And the coffee? Really nice, exactly what you’d hope for.

I enjoyed it enough to go back on my own a few days later and decided to try the full English. For just over £10, it was a great choice. They added a bit of a twist with some spices and spinach, which was a nice change from the usual fry-up—really tasty. They even do a Turkish version of a full English, which I need to try sometime.

If you’re in town, I’d say it’s worth popping into Blossom for a try. And if you’ve been already, let me know what you think.

Think Floyd @ The Parr Hall🎸 🎙️

Think Floyd’s 2024 show is set to be a must-see for Pink Floyd fans, featuring classics from Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, and The Division Bell. Even Pink Floyd’s own Nick Mason praised them as “brilliant” and “better than we are”!

With an incredible laser light show and dedicated sound engineers, Think Floyd delivers a live experience that captures the full atmosphere and sound of a true Pink Floyd concert.

When is it? Tuesday the 12th of November at 7:30pm.

Thelwall History Group Meeting🏦

I know many of you who read the newsletter love local history, so I thought this was worth sharing.

The Thelwall History Group’s next meeting is on Tuesday, 12th November. It will feature a talk on "A Short History of Parr’s Bank." Philip Jeffs from Culture Warrington will present his research, complete with historical photographs, for a fascinating look into this part of Warrington's past.

House of the Week 🏠️

This week’s House of the Week is a stylish four-bedroom detached home on Blakehill Drive, Great Sankey, with an asking price around £375,000. This this home is ideal for families, featuring a modern kitchen with top appliances, a new boiler, and a stunning orangery for relaxed living or entertaining.

Outside, there’s a beautifully landscaped garden and ample parking. Close to Warrington West Station and great local schools, it’s perfectly set up for both comfort and convenience.

Where Are We Today? 📸

One of my favourite features, it’s simple, we’ll take a photo of somewhere in Warrington, and you tell us where!

The answer will be in Friday’s newsletter.

Warrington Wordle (#38) 🧠

I am following on with the “places” theme. As it is just one word, it might just be a part of the name of something. These Wordles are not easy to think up at times. Good luck with this one :)
