Daresbury Ice Cream Farm, Sunflower Walk at The Hayloft, What's On This Week

Monday 5th August

Good morning, Warrington. It's Monday, which means a fresh edition of From Warrington is here to start your week. We’ve got all the latest town news and events wrapped up in just a few minutes.

In today's edition:

  • Daresbury Ice Cream Farm Review

  • Sunflower walk at the Hayloft

  • What’s On guide

Grab your favourite brew (mine is a boring Americano), and let's start.

Daresbury Ice Cream Farm Review

I still feel Daresbury Ice Farm is a hidden place many people don’t know about, so I am adding it to today's newsletter.

We visited at the weekend while the sun was out and both got a two-scoop tub each. I went for raspberry ripple on top with biscoff underneath, and my wife went for popcorn and pineapple. We shared both and thought the biscoff flavour was the best of the four flavours, but they were all really good.

Here is a link to their Facebook. They are hidden away down a quiet country lane.

Get yourself down there. I mean…..who doesn’t like ice cream?

Sunflower Walk at The Hayloft

(Thanks to our reader Andrew MacMichael for sending over the images)

There is a sunflower trail walk at the Hayloft (Widnes, but right on the edge of Warrington).

This is open every day during the summer from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can pick your own sunflowers, there is a miniature railway, and they sometimes open the trail in the evening.

Don’t forget there’s a cafe that also serves some great food.

Always check their Facebook before you go, as this might change as the summer progresses.

In Other News

Here is a quick roundup of Warrington's news from the main newspapers. We only try to pick out the stories that sound positive. There isn’t much to report over the weekend!
