Oasis Tribute Band Coming To Town, New Italian Restaurant and Spike Island Clean Up

Good morning, Warrington. Mike here! Welcome to the newest of our 650 members who joined up over the last month or so.

In today’s From Warrington:

  • Oasis tribute band is coming to town (last few tickets) 🎸🇬🇧

  • A new Italian restaurant is opening 🇮🇹 🍕

  • Spike Island clean-up 🧹🌳

  • Hope 100 Walk 🚶‍♂️

Let’s get to it.

Oasis Tribute Band 🎸 🇬🇧

If you missed out on tickets to see Oasis (most of my mates gave up), you can still see an amazing tribute band called Ohasis, which is coming to town in December.

I’ve been lucky enough to see them play, and they were really good.

Where is it? Warrington Irish Club, 83 Orford Lane, Warrington, WA2 7AL.

When is it? Friday 27th of December.

There aren’t many tickets left for this event, but you can buy them on Skiddle here.

New Italian Coming To Town 🇮🇹 🍕

Some of you have driven past Deva (formerly the Coach and Horses Pub) on Old Liverpool Road in Great Sankey and noticed it’s recently closed. Although it’s sad to see a restaurant close, the good news is that it will soon be opening as San Marino Italian Bar and Restaurant.

They already own a restaurant in Widnes, which some of you may have visited. It looks like its being totally gutted but I am excited to see what its going to look like when its o’s open.

You can view a video of the underway transformation on their Facebook page.

Hope 100 Walk 🚶 🚶‍♂️ 🚶‍♀️

Sunday 8th September 2024

Join them for a 10 mile-sponsored 3am night walk through Warrington to help raise awareness for suicide prevention.

The walk starts at The Halliwell Jones Stadium

If you want to sign up you can do so here: https://register.enthuse.com/ps/event/Hope100Walk2024

Spike Island Clean Up 🚢🌳

Okay, it's not technically Warrington, but it's a good place to visit for a walk just down the road.

The CRS teamed up with the Widnes restoration group to clean the coping stones and canal wall of weeds. They spent 45 hours clearing 300 yards of coping stones and walls of vegetation and did a litter pick by 14 volunteers on the site.

Both groups are so grateful for everybody who attended to make the area look so much better.

Next time you head down there, I’m sure you will agree it looks a lot better than it did.

This is their Facebook page if you want to follow them.
