Peace Festival, Heritage Open Day, and What's On Guide

Good morning, Warrington. Mike here! Who else had their heating on this week for the first time in ages? Welcome to all our new members. Friday’s edition is usually the biggest of the week, as plenty is on over the weekend.

Peace Festival 🙏

This takes place on Sunday between 10am and 4pm.

Join Peace & Mind UK at the EngineRooms (Birchwood) for a family day of relaxation, fun, mindful activities, and good vibes.

There will be activities such as yoga, inspirational speakers and crafts.

Town Hall Heritage Open Day 🏫

Warrington Town Hall will be open for visitors to look around at as part of the national Heritage Open Days - it’s free!

There were some similar days back in August, but these were all on Wednesdays, which were tricky for those who worked during the week.

The good news is that this one is on a Saturday, and it looks to be busy.

🎤 Whitney, Queen of the Night - Pyramid and Parr Hall, 6:45pm | If you love Whitney then you will love this.

🔮 Crystal Healing - Padgate Community Centre, 12:30pm | Connecting to crystal energy for a healing meditation Journey.

🎤 Celine Dion Tribute - Warrington Irish Club, 7pm | Looks set to be another great music night at Warrington Irish Club.

😲 Murder Mystery Dinner - The Black Swann, 7pm | Something a bit different! Solve a Murder while enjoying a three course meal at the Black Swan.

🧠 Lakeside Quiz - Partridge Lakes, 6pm | A fun quiz by the side of the lake (they have heaters outside don’t worry).

🏃 Park Run - Victoria Park, 9am - This is every Saturday. Anyone can turn up and run a 5k with hundreds of others. It’s brilliant.

☕️ Macmillan Cancer Support Afternoon - Allure Beauty, 11am | Show up and show your support for breast cancer.

🎨 Sea Glass Setting Workshop - The Fox Studios, 10am | Create your very own unique jewellery piece by learning how to measure, cut and create a bezel setting to fit sea glass in silver.

🛍️ Artisan Market - Kenyon Hall Farm (Day 1), 10am - 4pm | A weekend of fun, shopping and fruit picking at the award-winning Kenyon Hall Farm.

🎤 Shania Twain Tribute - The Culcheth Arms, 7pm | A 3-course meal and live entertainment for the night with their Shania Twain Tribute Act.

🧒 Kids Planet Open Day - Barnes Close, 10am | Their staff team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and showcase the nursery.

📸 Natural Light Portraits - Bank Quay Train Station, 10am | Explore how we can take beautiful portraits using natural light and backgrounds.

🏫 Town Hall Heritage Open Day - Town Hall, 10am | If you have always wanted to have a look around the town hall then now is your chance.

Sunday

🛍️ Artisan Market - Kenyon Hall Farm (Day 2), 11am - 4pm | A weekend of fun, shopping and fruit picking at the award-winning Kenyon Hall Farm.

🛍️ Artisan and Makers Market - Lowton Social Club, 10am | A great little market with a children’s activities zone and cafe.

🙏 Peace Festival - The EngineRooms, 10am - 4pm | Join Peace & Mind UK at the EngineRooms for a family day filled with relaxation, fun, mindful activities and good vibes.

😀 Mela 2024, 11am - 4pm | This is Warringtons multicultural festival that brings street theatre, dance, music, food and global cultures to the heart of the town.

Sport 🏉

🏉 Warrington Wolves take on Huddersfield Giants at 6pm. This is an away game but you can get your tickets here.

⚽️ Warrington Town take on Radcliffe in the FA Cup at 3pm on Saturday at home. We need a win after the last few results haven’t gone our way. Tickets.

Wednesday Bus Station Poll Results

The results are still coming in, but it seems most of you think that the current bus station is just as bad as the old one now. I agree.

If you were wondering where we were on Wednesday? We were down the side of the Red Lion Pub in Moore. It’s a great walk that takes you onto the canal then head back and enjoy a pint at the pub after it!
