Peter Kay Tribute Act, GB Skateboarding Championships and Birchwood Repair Cafe

Plus Warrington Wordsearch, Wordle and More....

Good morning, Warrington. This is From Warrington. The local newsletter that’s like getting a wave from Santa on his float 👋

In today’s From Warrington:

  • 🤣 Peter Kay Tribute Act @ St Roccos Hospice Fundraising Night

  • 🛹 Skateboard GB National Championships

  • 🔨 Birchwood Repair Cafe

  • 🧠 Warrington Word Search (New Feature)

  • 😃 Plus lots more….

Let’s get to it.

Peter Kay Tribute Act @ St Roccos Hospice Fundraising Night 😆

Prepare for a night of laughter as Simon Marks brings his spot-on tribute to Peter Kay to Warrington.

Join the fun on Saturday, 16th November, at Monk Sport & Social Club (WA1 4NF). Doors open at 7:00 PM, so grab your friends and get ready for an evening packed with the classic comedy we all love.

Tickets are £15 each and available through Chris Forster Events on Facebook or by calling 07969 333226. This is an 18+ only event, so don’t miss out on what promises to be a fantastic night of entertainment!

Birchwood Repair Cafe 🔨

Last Friday I mentioned 2 repair cafes that were taking place over Warrington. These went down really well with readers of the newsletter. I even got a few emails from people telling me what they had repaired which was really nice.

This next repair cafe is at Birchwood Youth and Community Centre, on Saturday the 16th from 10am - 1pm.

If you’ve got items like small electricals, bikes, laptops, clothing, or even blunt blades in need of sharpening, bring them down for a free fix by the talented volunteers. Plus, while you wait, enjoy a treat from the pop-up café, serving homemade cakes and drinks at great prices. Make sure to check in by 12:30 PM—and if your item looks tricky to fix, earlier is better.

Skateboard GB National Championships 🛹

The National Skateboarding Championships are returning to Warrington this year.

On 16th and 17th November 2024, Ramp1 will host top skaters from across the country as they compete for the championship title. Spectator tickets are limited: £5 for Saturday’s practice and best trick sessions, and £15 for Sunday’s heats and final.

Can’t make it in person? You can catch all the action live on the Skateboard GB YouTube Channel from 5 PM on Sunday, 17th November. Don’t miss this chance to see the best in British skateboarding.

The Wordle is the most popular feature in the newsletter, so I decided to come up with some more trivia ideas.

Although this might be hard to print out (most of you read it on your phones), it still might be something fun that will fill a few minutes of your day while you pretend to work…… or on the bus…. or wherever else you read the newsletter.

How many can you find?

House of The Week 🗓️

The house of the week is proving really popular so this will be a regular feature. If you are an estate agent who wants to sponsor this section and get your houses in every week just reply to the email and let me know 😉

This week’s House of the Week is a three-bedroom semi-detached home on Berkshire Drive in Woolston, available for offers over £250,000. With an extended layout, it provides flexible living space, including a spacious lounge, separate dining room, and an additional reception room that could double as a fourth bedroom. Though it needs some modernisation, it’s a fantastic canvas for anyone looking to put their personal stamp on a family home.

Upstairs, the master bedroom benefits from the extension, adding extra room for customisation, along with two more generously sized bedrooms and a family bathroom. Outside, the south-facing private garden offers a quiet retreat, while the paved driveway provides convenient off-road parking.

Located within the Kings Academy catchment area and close to Warrington town centre and motorway links, this property combines space, potential, and convenience. Offered with no onward chain and freehold tenure, it’s a great opportunity for those ready to create their ideal family home.

Warrington Wordle (#42) 🧠

Today's wordle is another one that’s an Area of Warrington. I think this is probably one of the last “area” Wordles as I have run out now. 😀
