Scarecrow Festival, Mental Health Support, New Kenji Store and What's On

Plus Warrington Wordle, The Weather and Lots More......

Good morning, Warrington! This is “From Warrington”, where we do our best to help you have the best plans for the week ahead, ready for those awkward conversations with colleagues while the kettles boiling! (Tell them that you get all your ideas from the newsletter 😉).

In today's edition:

  • 🎃 Scarecrow Festival

  • 👨‍⚕️ Warrington Mental Health Drop-In

  • 🛍️ New Kenji Store Opens In Town

  • 🏉 Warrington Lost to Hull KR

  • 😄 Plus Warrington Wordle, The Weather and Lots More……

Grab your favourite brew, and let's start. ☕️

Scarecrow Festival 🚜

If you're looking for something fun, pop down to St. Philips Church in Westbrook between 10am and 4pm to grab a map and explore the scarecrows scattered around the community.

There will be plenty inside the church—stalls with artisan crafts, homemade treats, games, and face painting. Kids can enjoy free crafts, and the Church Café will serve hot dogs, cakes, and freshly brewed Fairtrade tea and coffee. It’s shaping up to be a great day for everyone!

World Mental Health Day Drop In 🧠 😃

We all know that talking about mental health is something that should be talked about more, so that’s why this is a slot in today’s newsletter.

World Mental Health Day is just around the corner, and Warrington Talking Therapies is hosting a special drop-in session to mark the occasion.

Join the team on Thursday, October 10th, 2024, from 9am to 12pm at The Living Well Hub on Horsemarket Street in the town centre.

This is a great opportunity to connect with others, learn more about local mental health support, and reflect on the importance of mental well-being. If you need a chat, pop in and see them.

New Kenji Store Opens 🛍️

This has been open for a few weeks now, and everyone I have spoken to thinks it’s a lot better than the other store we had.

People moan that Warrington town centre is not the best, but it’s doing better than most, and having Kenji open a bigger shop in town can only be good.

This shop is a lot better. The old store had small aisles that made it hard to get around, but this new shop is much better and more like the one in the Trafford Centre.

Weather ⛅️

Here is your 5-day forecast for Warrington. It looks like it will get brighter but colder as the week progresses.

Monday - 🌧️ 18° - 12°
Tuesday - 🌧️ 16° - 11°
Wednesday 🌧️ 15° - 7°
Thursday - ⛅️ 11° - 4°
Friday - ⛅️ 12° - 6°

Sport 🏉

⚽️ Warrington Town 1 - 1 Chorley. This is another draw for The Yellows, which means four draws out of the last five games. This leaves us sitting 19th in the table.

🏉 Warrington Wolves’ 2024 season came to a heartbreaking close with a narrow 10-8 semi-final defeat to Hull KR.

Despite two tries from Matty Ashton in the second half, missed conversions proved costly, and Wire couldn't quite get over the line in the final stages. Hull KR moves on to the Grand Final, leaving Warrington fans reflecting on what could have been. Maybe next year will be our year? Either way, I am sure you are proud of the team this year.

Thanks 👍️
