Spiderman and Star Wars Films Are Showing At The Odeon 🕷️⭐️ 🎥 

It’s always worth checking the Odeon site as they sometimes show some classic films. A while back, they showed loads of old James Bond films on Tuesday nights, which were great fun to watch on the big screen.

Spiderman 1 has already been on, but you can watch all the other films.

There are too many time slots and showings listed here, but you can check them out here. Toggle the “show all films” switch just under the dates, then scroll down to find all the times. Most are on either a Tuesday or a Wednesday night.

Where Are We Today? 📸 

Hint: This one was taken somewhere relatively new. We will maybe do a feature on this area soon. It’s an excellent place to walk the dog. Feel free to reply or wait until Friday’s newsletter if you know where it is.

Warrington Running Festival 🏃 

Mark your calendars, Warrington! On Sunday, 22nd September 2024, Bank Park will come alive with the Warrington Running Festival.

It was a great event last year (I ran it myself).

This year, there will be a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and junior rice. It’s all in support of St. Rocco’s Hospice.

It's not just about the running. The Bank Park event village will be buzzing with entertainment, activities, and food stalls.

Sankey Valley and the Four Seasons 🏞️ 

This video was recently featured on a local Facebook group and proved to be a hit.

It shows the changing seasons of Sankey Valley throughout the seasons.

You can either watch it here on Facebook, or he’s uploaded it to YouTube as well.

I reached out to Ben Thomson, who created it and was he happy to share it here.

Ben said, “A year in the making … I started a photography project in August 2023 - inspired by walking the dog in Sankey Valley Park.

I’ve been taking pictures from the same spot over the year … in an art project I’m calling “Sankey Valley and the four seasons”!

Sankey Canal Restoration Society Work Party

Staying on the theme of the Sankey Canal, the restoration society completed a work party down at Bewsey Locks. They uncovered the swing bridge landing area, and what they completed looks great.

Their next work party is down at Spike Island on August 31st.

• 🚜 If you are wondering what all the smoke you could see on Sunday was about. It was a combine harvester that was on fire.

• 💃 Stockton Heath dancer to attend a prestigious dance school.

• 📸 Some great photos of the Northern lights that were once again visible over Warrington.

Warrington Wordle 🧠 

This proved very popular on Monday, so it’s back again. I received plenty of emails from people showing me that they got it in one go—well done.

I tested today’s Wordle with a few friends, who found it challenging. Put on your thinking caps for this one!
